Braham Area Schools and Student Council

Description

Braham Area Schools is located in Braham, MN, on the eastern edge of the state about 50 minutes north of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area. The district consists of a two-building campus and provides PreK-12 programming for approximately 800 students under the direction of 50+ licensed staff and a similar sized support team. The district offers 24 cocurricular activities and is committed to serving the community at the highest level. The district also offers preschool programming (full and half day options) for children ages 3-5. MDE has given the preschool department a 4 star rating as part of the Parent Aware System - the highest ranking available (eligible parents receive scholarship funding). A smaller district that provides every student a chance to succeed, Braham often EXCEEDS the MCA state average in reading, math and graduation rates. Our Elem. has been named a School of Excellence and our HS was nationally ranked in US News and World Report. Over 40% of Braham juniors/seniors earn free college credit and our Career and Technical Education Programs offer many opportunities including high performance vehicle building, welding, greenhouse management, food science, veterinarian science, and other STEM related activities. Finally - all graduating seniors qualify for two years of post secondary education free, compliments of the Frandsen Family Foundation.

Student Council is a group of high school leaders who host and/or organize a variety of events to promote school and community pride.  Student Council representative is Savannah Kunshier.
